Located to the south of the Capital San José, Pérez Zeledón is one of the four main growing regions in Costa Rica. Coffee is readily grown throughout the region at altitudes between 800 and 1,000 meters above sea-level.
This bean is sourced from the cooperative CoopeAgri based in San Isidro Pérez Zeledón. CoopeAgri is the main cooperative in the region and services both coffee and agricultural products such as sugar. The cooperative consists of approximately 5,000 coffee producers and hails as the biggest cooperative in Costa Rica. In addition to owning supermarkets, cafes and hardware stores, CoopeAgri distributes 65% overall revenue back to producers, as well as providing affordable access to medical care to it's members.
With tasting notes of nutmeg, candied pecan, & star anise this coffee is a delightful and smooth espresso with spiced and nutty notes. This versatile coffee is suited with and without milk.
