THE FARM
The Morada do Sol Farm is located in the Araxá-MG, a municipality in the centre of Brazil’s Cerrado Mineiro region. Spanning an astounding 900 hectares, the farm dedicates 21 of them solely to coffee production. Growing is led by esteemed coffee grower Ellen Lorencini Moraes, who is renowned for her vast knowledge and meticulous dedication to her craft.
THE VISION
Ellen founded the farm with her father, Laércio Lorencini, and sister, Marta Lorencini, to carve a space for themselves in Germany’s expansive and ever-growing coffee market. Morada do Sol stands out from the crowd with their exceptional products, which are brought to light by their wealth of industry expertise and backgrounds in agronomy and engineering.
THE PROCESS
This bean undergoes a natural processing where the cherries remain intact with the bean during their drying phase. At Morada do Sol this starts on expansive concrete patios and in the later stages, the cherries are transferred to drying beds which are suspended to accurately control the moisture content present in the beans. Each stage of this process is diligently monitored to ensure the striking and unique characteristics of this bean shine through in the final product.
This fruity and aromatic single origin with tasting notes of port wine, peach, and candied walnut shines as a pour-over and is best suited for those who love their coffee without milk.
