Brazil Vinhal Farm

History

Since 1988 this family run business at Vinhal Farm in Brazil has had a focus on both quality coffee and care for the environment.  They have continued to develop and improve over the years, adopting the best sustainability practices and respect for people/life. They are very proud of all the awards they have already won in some of the main quality contests in Brazil.

Certification

Their properties are certified by Rainforest Alliance, 4C and Certifica Minas. This certification extends across all of the farms they own. In order to both achieve and maintain these certifications, a series of standards need to be met and sustained. Some of these regulations include; environmental conservation and sustainable production, good social practices and working conditions, an efficient management and control system for the entire production chain and full compliance with all current legislation.

Processing

This is a double honey processed bean, and this process gets its name from the sticky, honey-like feel the bean has before being dried. Once a coffee bean is separated from its cherry, it’s left covered in a mucilage layer that will continue to reabsorb moisture from the air and become sticky once dried. Honey processed coffee showcases a distinct sweetness which is often paired with fruity undertones. The sugars and acidity in the mucilage play a key role in the development of these qualities as throughout the drying period, the sugars in the mucilage become more and more concentrated, and then these sugars begin to soak through to the coffee bean.

This extremely aromatic and sweet coffee sourced from Vinhal Farm in Brazil is a great addition to our Black Label range. Featuring tasting notes of Sicilian lemon, blueberry and walnut it is perfect for an aromatic pour over or filter style coffee.
