This exceptional washed coffee hails from Inzá - a picturesque municipality nestled in the heart of the central Andean Mountain range - just 91 kilometers from Popayán, the capital of Colombia's Cauca department. Inzá is renowned not only for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity but also for its deep historical and cultural significance. Located within the Tierradentro National Park, one of Colombia's three most important archaeological sites, the region is home to invaluable treasures that highlight the sophisticated cultures of ancient civilisations.
Grown at altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 1,900 meters above sea level, coffee thrives in Inzá’s unique microclimates shaped by the surrounding Andean mountains. The region's fertile soil and ideal altitude create the perfect conditions for cultivating coffee — delivering a remarkable balance of acidity, body, and flavour. Additionally, the region’s diverse ecosystem allows for the cultivation of other exotic plants such as tree tomatoes.
The washed processing method, where the coffee cherries are cleaned before drying, results in a cup that is vibrant, and full of character. This coffee is more than just a beverage—it is a celebration of Inzá’s rich history, culture, and natural abundance, a testament to the enduring spirit and resilience of the Inzá people and their harmonious relationship with the land.
Tasting notes of green mango, nectarine and vanilla bean makes this robust, fruity coffee a great choice for cold brew or a strong, single espresso. We recommend brewing this versatile coffee on your home espresso setup and you can enjoy it both with or without milk.
